How is Spiced Rum Made? The Process Behind the Flavour
Here’s how we do it at Slydog — crafting spiced rum that’s packed with flavour.
Step 1: The Rum
We start with high-quality rum, usually distilled from molasses.
The base rum can be aged or unaged, depending on the style we’re going for.
Step 2: The Spice Blend
This is where the magic happens.
We carefully blend:

Vanilla

Cinnamon

Nutmeg
-
Clove
-
Citrus peel

Other secret ingredients (we can’t give away all our secrets!)
Step 3: Infusion
The spices are either:

Macerated (soaked) in the rum

Or vapour-infused — depending on the batch
This draws out deep, rich flavours into the spirit.
Step 4: Resting & Bottling
Finally, we rest the spiced rum to allow the flavours to marry — then bottle it up, ready for you to enjoy.
