SLY DOG RUM
One night. One bad idea.

We're giving someone £1,000 for a terrible idea.

Not a good idea. Not an investable one. The kind of thing your mates talked you out of at the pub. Pitch us that, and we might just pay for it.

Pitch us your idea.
A very bad plan
02 / The reason

Why we're doing this

We had £1,000 sitting around and a lot of opinions about how boring most 'good ideas' are. So we're doing something with it. Once. Live, at Mercato Metropolitano this October. No fund. No committee. No five-year plan. Just one pitch night, a room full of strangers, and £1,000 going to whoever has the nerve to stand up and ask for it.

A questionable use of £1,000
03 / The brief

The brief

Want

  • An idea you actually believe in even if nobody sensible would fund it.
  • Nothing illegal, nothing that hurts anyone.
  • Something you'd genuinely do if handed the cash tonight.

Don't want

  • A business plan.
  • A good idea.
  • Anything secretly a good idea wearing a silly hat.
04 / No slides

How it works

Turn up on the night. Tell the room your idea in a couple of minutes, slides required. The crowd decides who wins. Whoever gets the biggest reaction walks away with £1,000, in cash, to go and actually do the thing. That's it.

Pitch it. We might just back it.

Got a terrible idea worth £1,000?

Tell us what it is and why it needs to happen. Doesn't need to be polished, it just needs to be something you'd actually do.
